Redstor Protection Service RBUSS Reaches Half of UK Schools

Protecting close to one petabyte
Redstor Limited, provider of cloud services and data protection solutions, has revealed that over half of all UK Schools have access to RBUSS (Remote BackUp Service for Schools), an automated, online backup and recovery service which simplifies the management of backups.
RBUSS currently protects close to one petabyte of data. Building on the success of RBUSS is Redstor Protector which was launched in December 2009. Redstor Protector is a unique 'cloud' service that secures and protects confidential and sensitive information held on PCs and Laptops in the event of data loss or theft. At Redstor’s first customer user conference, held in Manchester and Reading on 6th and 8th July 2010, over 6,000 UK Schools were represented.

Redstor provides services for more 14,000 schools throughout 85 local education authorities and protects a significant amount of data for schools in the UK. Many organisations are currently worried about the stability of their data back-up provider due to the recent economic turmoil. Redstor eliminates these concerns with an innovative business model that generates recurring revenues of over 60%."
Evans continues: "The education sector is about to enter an exciting period of change. With more than 900 schools planning to apply for academy status the market for education services will become more competitive as academies will have increased scope to shop around for IT services and solutions."
The Redstor Online Backup service, launched in 2005, now has close to one petabyte of customer data under its protection and is one of the largest in the UK.
