Open-E JovianDSS Update V.29 ZFS and Linux-Based Storage Management Software

Open-E GmbH updated its ZFS-and Linux-based JovianDSS storage Software.

The up29 version is free of charge for all software users and is available for download on the company’s website.

The update 29 of JovianDSS contains updates and fixes that improve its performance and configuration options. Overall storage management and monitoring of the product have been optimized as well.

List of all features in up29:

• Sequential algorithm for data scrubbing that helps to maintain the data integrity.

• Sequential algorithm for data resilvering that executes in case of drive replacement.

• Hot-plugging feature for NVMe disks that allows adding NVMe disks without shutting down and restarting the OS.

• REST API functionalities such as low level reboot and filters that allow searching by SCSI ID, EUI, target name and zvol name.

• Improvement of logging mechanism improvement in case of hard or unexpected reboots.

• Improvements of Text-based User Interface which include new disk LED blinking reset tool, and write cache management tool feature (on/off), as well as minor updates in terms of removing tool mechanism.
