Taiwan’s Public Television Chooses QSAN

To enable 4K media operations with dual-controller unified storage

Qsan Technology Inc. announces that The Public Television Service Foundation (PTS Foundation) selected its Qsan XN series dual-controller unified storage solution.

PTS, a public foundation established with donations from the Taiwan government in 1988 operates Taiwan’s public television station. In addition to managing the public television station, PTS also leads the operations of the Taiwan Broadcasting System (TBS) and is the largest shareholder of the Chinese Television System (CTS).

  • Insufficient Network Bandwidth: The existing 1Gb Ethernet network struggled to provide smooth playback speeds, necessitating a comprehensive upgrade to 10G-100G.
  • Inadequate Performance: The existing storage infrastructure could no longer cope with the demands of extensive video editing, access, and sharing, requiring hardware enhancements.
  • Scalability Constraints: The exponential growth in data volume overwhelmed traditional storage solutions, whose inability to scale created significant limitations.
