SNIA Swordfish V.1.2.5 Release Available for Public Review

SNIA‘s Storage Management Initiative (SMI) announces the release of SNIA Swordfish v1.2.5 is out for public review.

This bundle provides a unified approach to manage storage and servers in hyperscale and cloud infrastructure environments, making it easier for IT administrators to integrate scalable solutions into their data centers.

Version provides:

• Expanded support for profile and mapping in the Swordfish NVMe model overview and mapping guide
• New use cases and section to the Swordfish scalable storage management API user’s guide
• Functionality enhancements supporting both traditional and NVMe and NVMe-oF storage

Swordfish v1.2.5 is releasing concurrently with DMTF’s Redfish version 2023.1, enabling DMTF and SNIA to jointly deliver new functionality, including metrics for volumes, drives, and storage controllers, as well as support for NVMe SMART Metrics and enhanced NVMe-oF discovery controller capabilities for managing NVMe-oF centralized discovery controllers, among others.

“This latest evolution represents the only standards-based management solution for state-of-the-art technology such as NVMe, delivered jointly by Redfish and Swordfish,” said Richelle Ahlvers, board of directors vice chair and SMI chair, SNIA.

“Redfish and Swordfish have been working together since 2015 to expand the Redfish ecosystem,” said Michael Raineri, chair, and Redfish forum co-chair, DMTF. “This joint release highlights the importance of our partnership and commitment to aligning our standards with newer technologies like NVMe-oF.”
