Phison: Fiscal June 2022 Financial Results

Phison Electronics Corp. announced its operating results for June 2022, with consolidated revenue of NT$5.284 billion, an annual growth rate of 3%, a record high for the same period in a single month.

The annual cumulative revenue reached NT$33.391 billion in June, with an annual growth rate of 16%, a new high for the same period.

Compared with the same period last year, the total shipments of SATA and PCIe SSD controllers in June increased by nearly 3%, and the total shipments of industrial-grade controllers increased by nearly 103%, continuing to grow steadily. In addition, the total shipments of PCIe SSD controllers from the year to June increased by over 36% Y/Y, and the total memory bits shipments also increased by nearly 3%, both hitting new highs for the same period in history.

K.S.Pua, CEO, explained that during the past 2 years, the epidemic has led to changes in people’s life and work patterns, and various electronics industries have experienced substantial demand growth, including desktop computers, notebooks, tablets, smart phones, cloud servers, and game consoles. As a result, the world has ushered in a super boom in the semiconductor industry. However, this prosperity was also reversed due to factors such as regional lockdowns, war uncertainty, rising oil prices, and inflation, and eventually became a global decline in consumer demand.

The CEO went on to emphasize that his company has always been accustomed to market fluctuations in supply and demand. For the firm, the only constant in the market is “change””; in other words, the market will not always be in a tailwind or a permanent recession. For the CEO, the most important thing is how to ride the wind and waves in the ever-changing market, lead the company and team to overcome difficulties, and continue to pursue growth and prosperity in stability.
