History (1999): Maxtor Expands in Singapore

Into 350,000-square-foot building to produce HDDs

Maxtor has purchased a new 350,000-square-foot building, located within 10km to the north of its current facility in Ang Mo Kio.

According to Asian sources, the company got a cheap price for the property and will increase its headcount in the country by 20%, for a total of 5,800 by end-99.

Production in the new facility is expected to begin at the end of 2Q19.
