Availability of SoftIron HyperDrive HR61000 Storage Router

Services gateway that provides interoperable high-throughput storage transactions for organizations using S3 or legacy protocols such as iSCSI, NFS, and SMB

SoftIron Ltd. announced the availability of its HyperDrive HR61000 Storage Router, an intelligent services gateway that provides interoperable high-throughput storage transactions for organizations using S3 or legacy protocols such as iSCSI, NFS, and SMB.

Softiron Storage Hyperdrive Router

Built using company‘s ‘task-specific’ approach that maximizes performance and efficiency, the HyperDrive HR61000 Storage Router is built to supply, resilient, and energy-efficient enterprise file services for collaboratively editing, processing, and sharing large files at high speeds.

The HR61000 provides flexible functionality for organizations looking to leverage and scale their current storage architectures. It provides enterprise-grade gateway services and legacy file and block integration for enterprise applications. Combined with the firm‘s Ceph-based HyperDrive Storage appliances, organizations can leverage the HR61000 to gain virtually limitless storage scalability, while consolidating and simplifying their legacy storage systems management.

Softiron Storage Router

Many of our customers are modernizing their storage infrastructures to support the scale-out needs of today and tomorrow and need flexible solutions to help them bridge the gap between their legacy infrastructure, and the infrastructures they’re building for the future,” said Craig Chadwell, VP, product. “In the HR61000, SoftIron is offering a task-specific storage router that is engineered from the inside out to provide line rate throughput for high speed and multi-tenant storage services, while delivering uncommon performance and efficiency for greener operation and overall lower TCO. Whether the purpose is providing SMB access to large files with no downtime, or consolidating legacy workloads, SoftIron is providing solutions to help them future proof the data center with systems tailored to help them win both the short and the long game.

The router continues the company‘s commitment to right-sizing data center appliances to provide flexible, and durable SDS in an efficient form factor. As with all of the firm’s storage appliances, it is engineered for task-specific operation, maximizing the performance of the unit, while minimizing the TCO (through superior efficiency).

HyperDrive HR61000 storage router specs:

  • Networking: 2xNICs (100GbE/100GbE)

  • Data resiliency: HA per service/protocol

  • Storage protocols: iSCSI, SMB, NFS, Custom, CephFS

  • Management: 1x1GbE, IPMI, Hyperdrive Manager

  • Power supply: Redundancy power (dual supplies); 120V-240V; 50Hz-60Hz

  • Power consumption: < 165W

  • Dimensions: 1U rack unit (H 43.7mm – 1.72 inches/W 429mm – 16.9 inches/L 637mm – 25.1 inches)

Secure provenance
The company controls the entire design and build process, producing all their products within their own manufacturing facilities. As a result, it offers ‘Secure Provenance’ which is the auditable provenance on all of its data center appliances. This ensures that units are ‘clear-box’ solutions, free of hidden componentry that is often at the root of common supply chain security attacks.

The HyperDrive HR61000 Storage Router is available for POC and purchase. The company offers both traditional purchasing (Capex) and as-a-service (Opex) options.
