As Riccardo Di Blasio, our chief revenue officer, said last week, the first few months of this year brought global change, including the way we work, how we engage with customers and, most important, the new challenges our customers are facing.

For example, businesses are rapidly accelerating their multi-cloud strategies in response to the Covid crisis and they require new ways to effectively and easily handle their data management needs in a multi-cloud world. That why we announce the general availability of Feature Release 11.19 for Commvault Complete Backup and Recovery, Commvault Activate, Commvault Orchestrate and Commvault Hyperscale.

We have been partnering with our customers to accelerate their cloud journeys for the past several years, helping them to:

  • protect cloud native and SaaS applications

  • leverage cloud economics for low cost direct-to-cloud backups

  • utilize cloud scale for rapid disaster recovery of applications in cloud

  • migrate critical workloads from on-premises to cloud and between different clouds

That is just to name several of our most common use cases. Our customers love the simplicity of using Commvault Command Center, our modern and simple user interface, to manage all these use cases across on-premises and multiple clouds. More than 500 customers have adopted Feature Release 11.19 during our technology preview alone.

What helps differentiate Commvault in the market is its innovations. Every quarter it adds new data management support for more workloads and further expand the breadth of our ecosystem. In Feature Release 11.19, has been added data protection for more cloud native workloads, such as Amazon DynamoDB, DocumentDB and RedShift. The company continues to hear from customers that the growing breadth of applications protected offers them the simplicity and economics of using a single data management solution across all the workloads in their entire enterprise.

The firm is also offering customers flexibility across different hypervisors, from on-premises to cloud. For instance, customers can use Commvault Complete to migrate SQL databases from AWS to Azure, SAP Hana from on-premises to cloud, files from on-premises laptops to Microsoft OneDrive, email from Microsoft Exchange on-premises to Microsoft Office 365 and more.

The company makes migration available through a single click in Command Center, automating and abstracting any complexity involved in a cloud migration such as:

  • Capturing the application server physical configuration

  • Protecting the application data

  • Provisioning the cloud instance and storage

  • Restoring the data

  • Validating the restore

  • Continuously applying changes from the production database backups to the migrated database

In Feature Release 11.19, is introduced the ability to migrate Oracle and SQL Server applications from on-premises to Microsoft Azure – all through the simplicity of Command Center. Learn how our customers use these features to accelerate their cloud journey.

Commitment to delivering customers flexibility extends across our philosophy toward management tools. Customers can also use our Commvault API framework to integrate into ServiceNow, VMware vRealize, Chef or Ansible for additional operations and reporting. Feature Release 11.19 further extends ready-to-use integration with ServiceNow, enabling customers to perform data protection and recovery operations of thousands of VMs, file system servers and MSSQL Servers from within ServiceNow interface. Through ServiceNow integration, customers can offer data protection as a service, with automated data protection, self-service SLA management and automated alert management.
