Free Data Recovery for Victims of Hurricane Harvey Extended by DriveSavers
To September 22, 2017
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on September 22, 2017 at 2:30 pmDriveSavers Data Recovery, Inc. offers a free data recovery for Texas residents who were impacted by Hurricane Harvey and the resulting flooding is being extended another week.
“We understand that many people are just returning to their homes after this horrible disaster,” said Scott Moyer, president, DriveSavers. “We want to give them a chance to find their devices and get them to us so we can get their data back. It just feels like the right thing to do.”
Since the flooding began on August 25, DriveSavers has already extended over $600,000 in free data recovery efforts on water-damaged HDDs, smartphones, laptops and other storage devices.
The free recovery service is available for victims of both Hurricanes Harvey and Irma with water-damaged devices. Because exposure to water and air cause corrosion on electronic circuitry, customers must contact DriveSavers no later than September 22 for Harvey victims and September 30 for Irma victims. There is a limit of one device per business or household. Customers needing additional recoveries, and those with multi-disk devices such as RAID, NAS and SAN devices, are eligible for a 50% discount off the regular service fees.
DriveSavers will accept as many devices that it can. However, it may limit the number of free recoveries based on workload, cost of parts and availability of personnel.
