150 Attendees and 22 Vendors at Flash Forward Event in UK Last Week

Event planned also in Germany next year

IT event organizer Evito Ltd. announced the results of its new one-day conference and expo Flash Forward, dedicated to flash and SSD storage technologies that took place on June 14, 2016 in London, UK.

Flash Forward
22 sponsoring SSD and all-flash subsystem makers – the biggest names were there – is a good number for such a brand new show, but 150 visitors is not a big figure, probably because not enough marketing.

Currently we have counted 156 SSD manufacturers and 73  all-flash subsystem makers in the world. The duration of the event – only one day – is a short time to visit all the booths and attend 17 interesting conferences from analysts and vendors.

Paul Trowbridge, event director, Evito, said: “In our feedback forms 100% of respondents said they will attend Flash Forward again and would recommend it to a colleague or peer. Additional vendors are already enquiring about sponsoring the next edition.

This European event is trying to duplicate the success of the Flash Memory Summit in Santa Clara, CA that started eleven years ago with only 450 registered attendees and 16 booths. During the years, the event went growing, almost doubling each year the number of attendees and exhibitors but in 2009. Last August 16-18, 2016 figures were 5,700 attendees and 122 booths. Next one will be  August 9-11, 2016 and StorageNewsletter.com intend to attend for the second time.

Organizers are considering dates for the 2017 edition of Flash Forward and planning to take the event to Germany.

Now there about no more independent show on storage only in the world and the biggest vendors prefer to organize their own annual private event.

Sponsors of Flash Forward were:

  • DDN
  • EMC
  • HDS
  • HGST
  • HPE
  • IBM
  • Infinidat
  • Kaminario
  • Micron Technology
