Intego Provides Backup Software to LaCie

Intego, the Macintosh security specialist, announced a strategic partnership with LaCie, the vendor of storage solutions. LaCie sells more than 2 million DAS and NAS devices per year worldwide. Intego will help ensure that Mac users around the world are protected in case of data loss by providing two powerful, user-friendly solutions to back up data to LaCie drives, starting with the LaCie 4big and LaCie Network Space in September 2008.

Intego will be providing two backup programs – Intego Backup Assistant and Intego Backup Manager Pro – that are derived from Intego’s award-winning Personal Backup X5, and will be bundled with LaCie’s products. Intego Backup Assistant will be included with all LaCie hard drives and some of its network storage devices, and Intego Backup Manager Pro will be provided with LaCie’s professional network storage devices.

Intego Backup Assistant and Intego Backup Manager Pro are comprehensive backup solutions for Mac OS X, protecting users from data loss by systematically making copies of their documents, applications, and system files. Intego Backup Assistant can back up files to LaCie hard disks and network storage devices, and Intego Backup Manager Pro can make backups to any hard drive, network volume, iDisk, optical disc or iPod. Intego Backup Manager Pro can also make bootable backups of a Mac OS X startup volume and synchronize data between two computers, such as a desktop Mac and a laptop.
