IBM Data Mobility Services – Softek asset license – Softek TDMF z/OS enables nondisruptive volume-level migrations while your business applications remain available 24 x 7, while also providing the ability to take advantage of higher-performing, larger-capacity storage subsystems. This host-based software service is vendor independent, allowing flexibility and vendor choice. With this software service, new technologies can be quickly adopted while applications remain online and available. IBM Data Mobility Services – Softek asset license – Softek TDMF z/OS capabilities include:
- Extended address volume (EAV) device support
- Improved performance in GDPS/HyperSwap support
- Enhanced volume table of contents (VTOC) expansion
- Increased number of supported LPARs
- Optional capability to erase data on source volumes
This software service is ideal for technology refresh, server and storage consolidation, data center relocation, and storage optimization. Flexible pacing, grouping, and copy options allow multiple sessions to be performed simultaneously with minimal impact to applications. This service is available in three forms:
- As a software license
- As a project engagement
- As an element of a managed service engagement
Key prerequisites
Hardware: Any 3390 compatible storage; IBM DS8000tm with EAV support
Software: z/OS V1.6, or later; to utilize EAV capabilities, z/OS V1 R10 must be installed
