Infortrend Upgrades its Proprietary Storage Management Software Suite

Infortrend Technology, Inc. has released SANWatch version 1.2, an upgrade to the company’s proprietary storage management software suite designed for its EonStor arrays. This new software version includes two brand new modules, Configuration Manager and Disk Performance Monitor, as well as enhancements to the Central Management Console. SANWatch provides an intelligent management interface that makes better use of existing storage resources and reduces the time storage managers need to spend managing their systems. As a result, productivity is increased while the cost and complexity typically associated with data growth are decreased.

The new Configuration Manager feature is a very useful tool for managing multiple storage systems. IT managers can simultaneously export multiple storage configurations quickly and easily through a single console and discover, monitor, save, and restore multiple arrays through the comprehensive examples and scripts that are included. Upgrading firmware to all arrays is simple via easy-to-follow instructions, which will greatly save time and help prevent potential mistakes that can be caused by a complex configuration processes.

The Disk Performance Monitor module continually checks the performance of individual hard drives during active I/Os where a faulty drive can impact an array’s overall performance. Upon reviewing the screen, if there is any drive showing abnormal latency, the administrator can easily located and replace the faulty drive to restore and ensure optimum system performance. 

The enhanced Central Management function integrates subsystem information, such as disk status and storage capacity from multiply chosen RAID systems, into easy-to-view windows for straightforward management. This feature will help increase storage utilization and IT efficiency.

Availability
SANWatch version 1.2 is available now. All EonStor users can download the new software and firmware from Infortrend’s esupport system (customer service and support system).  Snapshot functionality is also available for a free 30-day trial period.
