SkyRecon Joins SanDisk Enterprise Solutions Technology Alliance
To verify compatibility of its security solutions with secure USB flash drives
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on August 16, 2008 at 3:12 pmSkyRecon Systems, a provider of integrated, proactive endpoint security solutions, has joined the SanDisk Enterprise Solutions Technology Alliance (SESTA). SESTA gives members the opportunity to test the compatibility of their products with secure USB flash drives from SanDisk, a leader in personal storage devices.
"We are delighted to welcome SkyRecon as a member of SESTA," said Ella Taran Katz, senior manager for business development in the Enterprise Division at SanDisk. "Enterprise IT managers will have a new level of comfort in knowing that SkyRecon and SanDisk products work together, without worrying about system conflicts or incompatibilities."
SkyRecon intends to evaluate its StormShield endpoint security solution under the SESTA partner testing guidelines. StormShield provides integrated device control, data encryption, application control, host-based intrusion prevention (HIPS), system firewall, wireless security, and network access control (NAC). It is through these endpoint security layers that StormShield provides comprehensive system security, data loss prevention, zero-day protection, and enforceable access control, doing so using only a few megabytes of memory, a fraction of the size of competing products in the market.
"One of today’s biggest IT security challenges is the widespread availability of highly portable storage devices that can be used to carry sensitive information," said Sean Martin, CISSP, SkyRecon VP of Marketing. "Our StormShield unified endpoint security solution, combined with SanDisk secure USB flash drives, can help organizations protect their sensitive data from theft or misuse, even in the case of a lost or stolen USB drive."
SanDisk’s flagship secure device is the Cruzer Enterprise high-speed USB flash drive with mandatory password protection and 256-bit AES hardware-based encryption. Data stored on Cruzer Enterprise has virtually ironclad protection against access by unauthorized users if the drive is lost or stolen.
The combination of the SanDisk Cruzer line of secure USB flash drives and SkyRecon’s unified endpoint protection product StormShield gives organizations the freedom to use their mobile data while protecting even their most sensitive data at both the endpoint and on the removable devices that connect to it.
