Emulex FC HBAs Available for EMC CLARiiON CX4

Emulex Corporation announced that its LightPulse Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBAs) are now available and qualified for use within the new EMC CLARiiON CX4 midrange storage system. Emulex LightPulse HBAs – available through the EMC Select Program – provide customers with industry-leading SAN connectivity.

The Emulex LightPulse family of Fibre Channel HBAs leverages eight generations of advanced, field-proven technology, providing customers with the highest quality SAN connectivity solutions. Emulex LightPulse HBAs include advanced Virtual HBA technology with support for industry-standard N-Port ID Virtualization (NPIV), which allows customers to effectively "virtualize" SAN connections so that each virtual machine has independent access to its own protected storage. This enables customers to leverage critical SAN management tools and best practices within virtualized server environments.

Emulex is a longstanding participant in the EMC Select program, which provides customers with a convenient, single source for their total storage needs. Emulex LightPulse HBAs are also qualified for use across the Celerra and Symmetrix networked storage systems in addition to the CLARiiON storage family.
