Tek-Tools Adds 40 New Customers in 2Q08

For its virtualization and SRM software

Tek-Tools Software announced that it acquired 40 new customers in the second quarter of 2008 further expanding its market presence across every major vertical market. The company reports that virtualization sprawl and ever expanding storage and application management requirements continue to create demand for the Profiler Suite, a comprehensive software suite to manage physical and virtualized IT assets — storage, servers, backup and applications.

Profiler Suite in lock-step with customers’ virtualization management needs

With its Profiler for VMware made generally available less than six months ago and its continually popular Storage Profiler, sales of these modules increased more than 50 percent in Q2 2008 over Q1 2008. Tek-Tools President and CEO Ken Barth is pleased, even pleasantly surprised by the demand for the solution saying: "The comprehensiveness of our solution has always drawn customers to us and we saw the management burden their increasingly virtualized infrastructures were creating for them. So in keeping with our mission to provide a single interface for IT resource management, we brought to market Profiler for VMware earlier this year and expected decent interest. But we had no idea the module would be as popular as it is." Since the module was released, virtualization reporting accounts for 40 percent of all Profiler licenses sold.

Tek-Tools has since enhanced the Suite’s virtualization management capabilities with a new release of the Profiler Suite in June that included enhanced end-to-end data path mapping for comprehensive views of virtualized and physical infrastructure and a new Profiler for VTL module to support FalconStor and its IBM, EMC and Sun derivatives. The latest version includes enhanced backup and media reporting as well.

Tek-Tools partners to expand market presence

Tek-Tools also increased its market presence considerably through strategic partnerships in Q2 2008. Tek-Tools announced that it joined the VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program; entered an alliance with 3PAR, whereby Tek-Tools’ added support for 3PAR InServ Storage Servers to its heterogeneous storage management software solution Storage Profiler; and signed a global original equipment manufacturing (OEM) agreement with ONStor, Inc., a leading provider of clustered NAS solutions, to integrate Storage Profiler with ONStor’s NAS gateways and filers.
