CipherMax Disk Encryption Interoperable With Some IBM Storage Systems
The DS4700, DS6800 and DS8100
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on March 7, 2008 at 4:40 pmCipherMax announced that its CM180D disk storage encryption
product has successfully completed interoperability testing with IBM’s
System Storage DS4700, DS6800 and DS8100 products and has been
confirmed as IBM System Storage Proven. The IBM System Storage Proven
program builds on IBM’s already extensive interoperability efforts to
develop and deliver products and solutions that work together with
third party products.
CipherMax’s CM180D is a fabric-based
storage security system that secures sensitive disk-based data with
line-speed encryption across up to 16 Fibre Channel connections. The
CM180D’s flexible installation supports transparent operation as a
SAN-attached appliance or deployment as a SAN switch with integrated
security services. A compact, 1U chassis minimizes rack space and power
consumption.
The tested solution demonstrates the
ability to provide transparent, cost-effective encryption services for
replicated data. The CM180D secures data stored on IBM disk array
systems at local and remote facilities, mitigating the risk of
unauthorized data viewing and enabling compliance with regulatory
mandates addressing data privacy and confidentiality. The deployment of
a clustered CM180D at a remote facility enables the ability to provide
storage system failover and a quick recovery time in the event of a
catastrophic event at the primary site.
The IBM System
Storage Proven program supports the ability of independent hardware and
software vendors to build high-quality solutions with the latest
technology on leading storage platforms as well as reduce solution
design time when multiple, tested building blocks have already been
pre-tested.
