Barkley Selects Accellion
To secure file transfer eliminating FTP administration and reducing storage costs
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on February 6, 2008 at 3:45 pmAccellion, Inc. has been selected by Barkley, an
advertising agency based in Kansas City, MO, to solve problems
associated with FTP administration as well as increasing storage
requirements. The Accellion Secure File Transfer Solution was chosen for
its ease of use, quick performance, and enterprise class tracking and
reporting capabilities.
Initially, Barkley implemented FTP for exchanging large files with the
company’s partners and clients. However,
because of the high volume of rich media files being transferred, they
soon found the FTP server cluttered with these audio and video files. As
a result, their storage requirements were skyrocketing. To complicate
matters, it was impossible to track whether files actually went to the
intended recipient. It was clear they needed a solution that would be
easily adopted by end-users and that could eliminate Administrative
overhead and storage increases.
“Our major challenges with large file
transfers were increasing IT administration and storage costs,”
said Greg Plassmeyer, Barkley Senior Network Administrator. “Until
Accellion, our administrators were bogged down dealing with file
management issues. After only 30 days with the Accellion solution we
recovered most of our storage costs from the previous year. Also we
significantly reduced email storage and associated support. Not only is
Accellion faster than email, we just set it and forget it!”
“Accellion provides companies with a secure
file transfer solution that gives end users the functionality they need
and the simplicity they want, without creating additional work for IT
departments,” said Yorgen Edholm, president
and CEO of Accellion. “Accellion not only
helps people get their job done more efficiently, but also with the
required record-keeping to document conformance with security and
compliance requirements.”
