NEC Continues to Buy to LSI

Corporation announced that NEC has selected LSI
MegaRAID Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) adapters for integration into
NEC’s newest Express5800 series of servers. The newly launched LSI
MegaRAID SAS 8708EM2, featuring the LSI SAS1078 RAID-on-Chip (ROC), has
been adopted for new NEC rackmount and tower servers, including the
Express5800/120Rj-2 and the Express5800/120Rh-1.

The LSI MegaRAID SAS 8708EM2 adapter delivers blazing storage
subsystem performance and supports both high-performance SAS disks or
high-capacity Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) drives – or
a combination of both – for greater system design flexibility.

The NEC Express5800 design win further extends MegaRAID across the
entire NEC one-way, two-way and four-way server line, and adds to the
long list of design wins for MegaRAID. In addition to selecting the
MegaRAID SAS 8708EM2, NEC has implemented multiple SCSI RAID products
from LSI including the LSI 53C1030, MegaRAID SCSI 320-1 and 320-2
adapters, and the MegaRAID software RAID-On-Motherboard stack.
