Assurestor Launches Assurestor Platform, Bringing Five Backup and DR Vendors Into One Console for MSPs
Zerto, Veeam, HYCU, Cirrus Data and Asigra under one console, one security model and a voice-enabled AI assistant, so stretched MSP teams can run the right engine for every customer without juggling five vendor consoles
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 6, 2026 at 2:00 pmAssurestor, a UK channel-only backup and disaster recovery company, launched Assurestor Platform, which brings five specialist engines from different vendors into one console for MSPs.
It is built for MSPs that are short of skilled engineers, juggling a separate console for every vendor, exposed to attacks that target backups directly, and looking for new services beyond Microsoft 365 backup. The engines are the backup, disaster recovery and SaaS protection products that do the protection work for each customer: Zerto, Veeam, HYCU, Cirrus Data and Asigra.
The platform adds two-person approval for high-risk actions on every engine, and Mia, an AI assistant engineers can ask out loud. The launch completes Assurestor’s move from cloud service provider to software platform vendor, and the platform is sold only through partners.
Specialist engines, not single-vendor. Other unified platforms reduce console sprawl by tying the MSP to one vendor’s engine for every workload, one vendor’s roadmap, and often a vendor that also sells direct. Assurestor Platform sits above five engines instead, each a specialist chosen for the job it does best. MSPs choose the right engine for each workload, and can change engine for a customer without changing platform, policies or console.
Too few engineers, too many consoles. The UK government’s latest cyber skills research found that 57% of UK businesses have a basic cyber security skills gap, up from 49% a year earlier, and MSPs are hiring from the same shrinking pool. An MSP offering backup and DR typically runs several vendor products, each with its own console, security model, licensing and billing, and each needing people who know it. Assurestor puts them behind one console and one security model. Mia, its AI assistant, answers questions about any customer or any engine in plain English, drawing on the MSP’s own tenants and settings rather than a generic help article, so scarce engineers spend less time on first-line queries. Mia Premium adds voice: engineers ask out loud and hear the answer read back as it arrives, hands free at the console.
What each engine covers:
- Enterprise disaster recovery with RPOs measured ins, including on HPE VM Essentials, through Zerto
- Backup and disaster recovery, through Veeam
- Protection for more than 60 SaaS applications beyond Microsoft 365, including Microsoft Dynamics, Entra ID, Confluence, Jira and iManage, through HYCU, giving MSPs a new service line for data many customers leave unprotected
- Hypervisor-agnostic disaster recovery across other hypervisors, through Cirrus Data
- Advanced cyber protection vs. ransomware, through Asigra, with bidirectional malware scanning on backup and restore, and content disarm and reconstruction (CDR) to strip threats from files
Every engine gains what the platform adds: Four Eyes protection, so destructive or high-risk administrative actions need a second person’s approval on every engine, alongside MFA and single sign-on; and one view across every customer, with advanced analytics and tenant-level billing reports. A stolen login should never be enough to wipe a customer’s backups. Veeam’s 2025 Ransomware Trends report found that 57% of organisations hit by ransomware recovered less than half their data.
MSPs choose how they run it: as Assurestor Platform, on Assurestor’s infrastructure with engine licences included, on one contract and one invoice; as Assurestor Control, over the MSP’s own engine licences and infrastructure, with no migration and no customer data stored by Assurestor; or as Assurestor Hybrid, with both side by side in one console.
“Other unified platforms unify their own products. We unify the best. MSPs are short of skilled engineers, and the last thing they need is another console or one vendor deciding their roadmap. And because we only sell through partners, we will never compete with them for a customer,” said Jason Reid, founder and CEO, Assurestor.
“We’ve worked with Assurestor for a number of years, so becoming a Founding Partner is a natural next step for FCS. The new platform allows us to build on the Veeam and Asigra services we already operate while adding specialist technologies for new workloads without having to build a separate platform for each one. For us, the real opportunity is to bring those different services together, give customers a clearer view of their protection and continue to focus on what ultimately matters: making sure their data and systems can be recovered when they need them,” said Jez Wyatt, Director, FCS Protect.
Assurestor Platform is available to UK MSPs.
