Nexcess Announces Acronis Endpoint Detection And Response For Hosted Servers

Integration brings real-time threat detection, automated containment, and centralized security management to managed cloud servers

Nexcess, a managed cloud provider, announced Acronis Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), security software that watches how programs behave on a server, flags activity that looks like an attack, and keeps a record of what happened. Customers can add it to any eligible Nexcess server. Why now
Artificial intelligence has fundamentally reshaped the security landscape. Previously, a sophisticated attack on a system took deep engineering expertise and months of patient reconnaissance. AI has eliminated both barriers. Nexcess is responding by offering Acronis EDR as an add-on for managed cloud servers.

What it is
EDR is security software that runs on the server, looks for suspicious activity and patterns occurring, flags potential malicious activity as it happens, and gives the customer the details and the tools to respond. It goes beyond antivirus protection, which blocks known threats, by continuously monitoring activity and identifying and containing threats in real time.

Why Nexcess
The Nexcess team handles the setup and turns it on, with nothing for the customer to install. Alerts show up in the Nexcess portal with the affected server, how severe it is, what was caught, and whether it’s been contained. One click from any incident opens the Acronis console for a closer look. It’s on one invoice, and Nexcess support is available to help with setup, access, and questions about alerts.

Availability
Acronis EDR is available starting October 19, 2026. Any eligible Nexcess managed cloud customer can add it, and customers who run Acronis Backup or DR with Nexcess can use the Acronis agent already on their servers.

“Our customers don’t wake up wanting an endpoint security product. They want to know that when something goes wrong on a server, they’ll see it and be able to do something about it,” said Michael Ohayon, GM, managed cloud, Nexcess. “We want to give our customers one partner for the server and the protection on it.”
