Powernexu Expands CRPS Portfolio with 1600W Platinum Model for Storage and High-Voltage DC Server Platforms

New high-efficiency power supply targeting high demanding environments

Powernexu announced the CRPSHD1600D2, a 1600W Platinum-efficiency CRPS power supply, designed for storage nodes, enterprise servers, telecom equipment and rack systems which requires standard AC input or high-voltage DC power. The unit accepts 90–264VAC and 180–400VDC input and uses a 185 × 73.5 × 40 mm CRPS form factor to deliver +12VSB / 3A standby output and +12V main-output options of 75A, 82A and 132A. The compact design keeps it suitable for server and storage chassis with limited PSU bay volume.Storage systems do not always require the same PSU class as accelerator-heavy AI servers. Drive count, NVMe devices, controllers, memory, networking and cooling all contribute to the load, but many platforms remain below the 2kW-plus range commonplace in GPU-dense systems

Which is where the 1600W class comes in handy, to give system builders more headroom than lower-power CRPS modules without automatically falling into a substantially higher power category.

“Not every storage platform needs a 2kW or 3kW PSU,” said Steven Zhang, product manager, Powernexu. “For some server and storage designs, 1600W is a more practical step up, delivering useful headroom without complicating the power architecture.”

The CRPSHD1600D2 also supports high-voltage DC input up to 400VDC, providing OEMs and integrators with an additional option for compatible DC-powered server or rack architectures, while retaining an option for conventional AC input.

The module is rated for Platinum efficiency and uses front-to-rear airflow, with an operating temperature range of 0°C to 55°C. Powernexu lists CCC certification and Class A MEI for the model.

For storage and enterprise platforms, PSU selection still requires validation at system level. Nameplate power is only one factor in the design, and cable resistance, connector temperature, chassis airflow and voltage drop under load can all reduce the margin available at the equipment input

During qualification, Powernexu recommends measuring voltage at both the PSU output and the server input, rather than relying on no-load measurements. Connector and enclosure temperatures should also be logged under representative load to provide a useful baseline for later maintenance checks.

Key specifications:
