Informatica World 2026: Informatica Brings Headless Data Management and Iceberg Governance to Snowflake

Announcements at Informatica World 2026 span agentic AI, enterprise governance, open data formats

Informatica from Salesforce, a player in AI-powered cloud data management leader, announced four new capabilities deepening its collaboration with Snowflake, a AI data cloud company.Unveiled at Informatica World 2026, the innovations span agentic AI integration, access governance and open-format data discovery – enabling joint customers to build, govern, and scale enterprise AI on Snowflake with greater speed and confidence.

“Enterprises don’t just need fast AI – they need AI they can trust,” said Rik Tamm-Daniels, VP, ecosystems and technology, Informatica from Salesforce. “The exciting innovations we’re announcing today for Snowflake helps to ensure that agents built in Cortex AI and analytics workloads run by our joint customers are powered by governed, high-quality data and Trusted Context”.

“Snowflake is committed to helping enterprises build and scale AI apps and agents on a trusted, governed, data foundation. Informatica is an important partner in helping us make that vision real for the enterprise,” said Chris Child, VP, product, data engineering, Snowflake. “From one of our ecosystem’s first MCP integrations with Cortex AI to unified governance for open-data, these capabilities enable joint customers to move faster with AI without compromising on governance or openness.”

Informatica is one of the first Snowflake partners to deliver headless data management integration with Snowflake Cortex AI. Developers building agents in Cortex AI can now invoke Informatica’s Headless Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) – including Metadata Search and Address Verification – from Informatica’s Cloud Data Governance and Catalog (CDGC) directly within their agentic workflows. The result is a plug-and-play, governed data layer for building enterprise agents on Cortex AI with no custom connectors and no compromise on data quality. Currently in Private Preview, Informatica’s Headless IDMC will be broadly accessible as the integration moves toward availability.

For enterprises focused on access governance, Informatica is highlighting the availability of row-level access policy management for Snowflake Tables within its Cloud Data Access Management (CDAM) framework. Centralized access policies defined in CDAM now propagate automatically to Snowflake Tables – delivering a true “build once, deploy anywhere” governance model without manual recreation inside Snowflake. This capability is available.

Many enterprises are embracing open data architectures. As part of Informatica’s April 2026 release, Informatica is making available, CDGC scanners for Snowflake Managed Iceberg Tables automatically extract technical metadata, map end-to-end lineage, and apply AI-powered profiling to identify sensitive data – linking open-format assets to business glossaries and governance policies regardless of where they live.

“As we continue to expand analytics use cases leveraging Informatica and Snowflake, having row-level access controls and visibility into Snowflake Managed Iceberg Table metadata and lineage are exactly what we need to extend our ‘govern once, enforce everywhere’ approach across our entire data estate,” said Gro Kamfjord, head of data, Jotun. “These innovations give us confidence to scale our governance standards and build a context-rich metadata system of intelligence as our data and AI landscape evolves.”

Headless IDMC capabilities are currently in Private Preview with GA planned for the summer 2026 release. All other capabilities are available globally.
