Dell Technologies announced that Mistral AI is using the Dell AI Factory with Nvidia to scale its AI capabilities and continue innovation in large language model (LLM) training and deployment.
Dell also announced an expanded collaboration with Mistral AI to bring its language and reasoning models and orchestration tools to the Dell AI Factory, giving enterprises new ways to deploy advanced AI workloads on their own infrastructure.
Why it matters
Mistral AI is a global AI company that develops and deploys LLMs for enterprises and governments worldwide. It builds open-weight models and agentic AI applications that customers can run on their own infrastructure, giving them full control over their data, their models and their IP.
Developing, training and running LLMs demands extraordinary compute, the kind of performance, density and efficiency that only purpose-built AI infrastructure can deliver. Dell provides integrated infrastructure that makes that possible at scale.
Building the foundation for AI-driven innovation
The Dell AI Factory with Nvidia serves as a foundation of Mistral’s environment, creating a platform for its infrastructure, software and services designed to support building, training and deploying AI workloads at scale.
Mistral’s platform includes liquid-cooled Dell PowerRack with Dell PowerEdge XE9712 servers and Nvidia GB200 NVL72 rack-scale supercomputer.
Dell Professional Services delivered the environment as fully integrated and validated, giving Mistral production-ready infrastructure from day one.
Dell and Mistral AI expand strategic collaboration
The infrastructure deployment is one part of a broader and growing relationship between Dell and Mistral AI. Dell is bringing certain Mistral language and reasoning models and orchestration tools to the Dell AI Factory. This gives organizations access to Mistral’s advanced capabilities to unlock richer data insights, integrate intelligent automation and streamline complex workflows — all within secure or on-premise environments where they maintain full control over their data and operations.
Perspectives
“Our customers need AI they can run on their own infrastructure, with full control over their data,” said Marjorie Janiewicz, CRO, Mistral AI. “Our collaboration with Dell and our joint go-to-market efforts together will bring these capabilities to businesses in the US and around the world.”
“The organizations shaping the future of AI need infrastructure that matches their ambition — integrated and built to scale,” said Arthur Lewis, president, infrastructure solutions group, Dell Technologies. “Mistral AI exemplifies the kind of innovation that demands exactly. Our work together reflects Dell’s commitment to enabling the AI era with the depth of portfolio and expertise required to turn ambition into production‑ready reality.”
