SNIA Announced Swordfish v1.2.9 Working Draft

The Swordfish specification helps to provide a unified approach for the management of storage and servers in hyperscale and cloud infrastructure environments, making it easier for IT administrators to integrate scalable solutions into their data centers.
Swordfish v1.2.9 includes expanded specification guidance for Capacity, as well as Mapping and Masking. This version also adds support for reporting persistent reservations.
Key updates and features of Swordfish v1.2.9 include:
- Updated and renamed Error Handling Guide to Message Guide, with added guidance for events and error usage
- Restructured and expanded Swordfish event message registries and updated event profile
- Alignment with DMTF Redfish usages, such as LifetimeStartDateTime property in metrics, improved guidance for error reporting, and actions behaviors
- Updates to NVM Express functionality and mapping guide and schema for NVMe personalities
- Updated filesystems use cases and mockups, updated mapping and masking functionality, added persistent reservations reporting capability, and expanded VolumeMetrics and StoragePoolMetrics
The Swordfish TWG also released a new public repository for Swordfish publications. This resource provides official read-only copies of published SNIA schemas, message registries, and profiles to support online version checking and diffs.
