Nvidia Confirms $5 Billion Investment in Intel

Announced on September 18, 2025, Nvidia Corp. confirmed a $5 billion investment in Intel Corp., representing 214,776,632 shares at $23.28 per share. As previously disclosed, this transaction gives Nvidia a 4% ownership stake in Intel.Coming shortly after Nvidia’s technology deal with Groq, the Intel investment introduces additional strategic implications. Should Intel’s acquisition of SambaNova be finalized, Nvidia would effectively gain indirect access to SambaNova’s technology as well. This raises an intriguing question: does Nvidia’s investment effectively enable – or even reinforce – Intel’s move, while subtly consolidating Nvidia’s influence over the inference landscape, leaving Cerebras as one of the few remaining independent alternatives?
