A Deal Between Intel and SambaNova Appears to be Imminent
For $1.6 billion
By Philippe Nicolas | December 15, 2025 at 2:01 pmAs Intel tried to concentrate its effort of its original mission following some serious financial difficulties, the firm targets AI chip and system vendor SambaNova and the deal should be around $1.6 billion according to Bloomberg. This amount is superior of the total raised at $1.1 billion. The Santa Clara giant made some progress but nothing is confirmed as the Palo Alto could adopt and choose another path like new financial round. Don’t forget that Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan is the chairman of SambaNova so perfectly in the loop of what happens there. If the deal would be signed for that amount it would represent a real bargain for Intel as the previous valuation was around $5 billion in 2021 but again, it would be a good deal for several companies at that value.
Recently Intel has sold VROC activity to Graid Technology and its Drone swarm management software to Nova Sky Stories, led by Kimbal Musk, Elon Musk’s brother, in addition to large quantity of light drones.
