VergeIO Unveils End-to-End Automation Chain with New Packer and Ansible Support

Completing end-to-end infrastructure automation chain for enterprise IT and CSPs deploying infrastructure on VergeOS

VergeIO, Inc. announced new support for HashiCorp Packer and Ansible, completing an end-to-end infrastructure automation chain for enterprise IT and CSPs deploying infrastructure on VergeOS.

With this release, VergeOS customers can now automate the full lifecycle of their environments: image creation, resource provisioning, configuration, and monitoring. The integration extends VergeOS into modern Infrastructure-as-Code ecosystems and aligns it with automation pipelines already used by platform engineering and DevOps teams.

Delivering True End-to-End Infrastructure Automation Chain
The VergeOS automation chain enables:

  • Packer to build standardized images
  • Terraform to provision VDCs, networks, and VMs
  • Ansible to enforce configuration and policies
  • Prometheus to monitor performance and health

This chain provides organizations with a predictable, repeatable foundation for deploying and managing infrastructure while maintaining control over every step, from image build to ongoing operations.

This release raises the bar for automation in private cloud environments,” said Yan Ness, CEO, VergeIO. “Customers now have a complete automation chain that allows them to build, deploy, and manage infrastructure on VergeOS with clarity and consistency.”

Standardizing Infrastructure at Scale

  • Packer support enables customers to create reliable golden images for Linux and Windows and publish them directly into VergeOS. This reduces drift, improves security, and simplifies multi-site or multi-tenant operations
  • Ansible support provides modules for managing Virtual Data Centers (VDCs), networking, VMs, snapshots, and replication. These modules allow teams to code their desired state and apply updates consistently across environments

Customers want infrastructure that behaves the same every time,” said Jason Yaeger, SVP, engineering, VergeIO. “The end-to-end automation chain gives them a clear and structured model that fits into their existing pipelines and accelerates how quickly they can deploy workloads.”

Accelerating VMware Exit Initiatives
Many organizations leaving VMware seek a cleaner, automated path to build new environments without inheriting legacy template issues. The Packer and Ansible integrations give migration teams a controlled, repeatable method to replatform workloads while improving efficiency for future operations.

CSPs and service providers also benefit from more consistent onboarding workflows. Standardized templates paired with automated configuration reduce the resource cost of managing large numbers of customers.

Availability
Packer and Ansible support is available for preview now and will be included in the upcoming VergeOS release planned for Q1 2026. Customers will receive updated documentation, examples, and reference architectures through the VergeIO Support Portal.
