Availability of Asustor Lockerstor 12-Bay 12R Pro Gen2 and 16-Bay 16R Pro Gen2 Rackmount NAS

Asustor Inc. launched its 12-bay and 16-bay rackmount NAS models: Lockerstor 12R Pro Gen2 and Lockerstor 16R Pro Gen2, purpose-built for medium to large enterprises requiring high-performance storage and virtualization capabilities.

Both models are powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 7745 8-Core processor, with a maximum boost clock of 5.3GHz, delivering multitasking and computing performance. Both models come equipped with 16GB of DDR5 ECC server-grade memory which is expandable up to 192GB, ensuring stability and security in multi-user and multitasking environments.

The Lockerstor R Pro Gen2 series supports high-capacity 30TB HDDs such as the Seagate IronWolf Pro and Exos M series, offering support for massive data storage and future expansion needs.

The Lockerstor R Pro Gen2 series feature dual PCIe Gen5 x8 and x4 slots, allowing flexible expansion with 25, 40, and 50GbE network cards as well as SAS storage controllers. Expand capacity with the Xpanstor 12 expansion unit using the Asustor add-in SAS controller. The Lockerstor R Pro Gen2 series include a M.2 slot for NVMe SSDs supporting PCIe 5.0 that can be used for high-speed caching, significantly improving performance in small file access scenarios.

In terms of networking, the Lockerstor R Pro Gen2 series are equipped with dual 10GbE and dual Gigabit ports, supporting link aggregation and SMB multichannel for maximum performance. With SMB multichannel enabled, dual 10GbE ports can achieve read and write speeds of up to 2,309MB/s and 1,886MB/s, enabling low-latency, high-bandwidth, and stable connections for multimedia production, large file transfers, and enterprise-grade environments. In addition, the dual redundant 80 PLUS Platinum power supplies maintain up to 92% power efficiency even under heavy loads, ensuring stable long-term operation while conserving energy.

The Lockerstor R Pro Gen2 series run ADM 5.0 NAS OS, the company’s in-house OS that delivers comprehensive NAS solutions from performance and scalability to security and management. ADM Defender’s upgraded firewall and SSH key authentication enhance data protection. Additional enterprise-class features include WORM (Write Once Read Many) immutable storage, AES-256 encryption, and 2-step verification to guard against ransomware threats.
