Alexander Summerer, head of authentication at Swissbit, has been appointed to serve as director on the FIDO Board. He will be supported by stand-in delegate Atreedev Banerjee, senior director of business development.
As contributor and active Sponsor Member of the FIDO Alliance, Swissbit brings decades of expertise in hardware-based security and secure storage to the board. The company is known for its standards-driven approach and has already introduced FIDO-certified products such as the iShield Key series and developed a Security Upgrade Kit for embedded systems, now integrating FIDO and FDO support.

Alexander Summerer joined Swissbit in 2023, bringing with him more than 20 years of experience in the security industry. Prior to that, he held key leadership roles at Giesecke+Devrient, including director of product management, where he focused on identity, authentication, and IoT security solutions.
Stand-in delegate Atreedev Banerjee joined Swissbit in 2024, bringing over 20 years of experience in mobile, payments, and identity technologies. He previously held leadership roles at Expedia Group, Verizon Media (Yahoo/AOL), Danal Inc., Siemens, and VeriSign.
