Silicon Storage Technology Assigned Patent
Verification of weight stored in NVM cell in neural network following programming operation
By Francis Pelletier | June 28, 2024 at 2:00 pmSilicon Storage Technology, Inc., San Jose, CA, Microchip Technology company, has been assigned a patent (11972795) developed by Bayat, Farnood Merrikh, Guo, Xinjie, Strukov, Dmitri, Goleta, CA, Do, Nhan, Saratoga, CA, Tran, Hieu Van, San Jose, CA, Tiwari, Vipin, Dublin, CA, and Reiten, Mark, Alamo, CA, for “verification of a weight stored in a non-volatile memory cell in a neural network following a programming operation.“
The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: “Numerous examples are disclosed for verifying a weight programmed into a selected non-volatile memory cell in a neural memory. In one example, a circuit comprises a digital-to-analog converter to convert a target weight comprising digital bits into a target voltage, a current-to-voltage converter to convert an output current from the selected non-volatile memory cell during a verify operation into an output voltage, and a comparator to compare the output voltage to the target voltage during a verify operation.”
The patent application was filed on 2023-03-10 (18/120360).
