History 2004: Reed Trying to Monopolize Storage Events
In Europe
By Jean Jacques Maleval | June 26, 2024 at 2:00 pmIn Europe, Reed Exhibitions is launching a full frontal assault on Moscito Consulting and its Forum Stockage, by organizing its own Storage Expo in 2005 – not only in France (probably November of next year), but also Spain (February 23 to 25) and Belgium (March 23 to 24), where Moscito was already present, and furthermore in Italy (February 9 to 11), the Netherlands (probably in October), Russia (September 7 to 9) and Sweden (beginning around September 1), along with its traditional UK event (October 12 to 13).
The latter enjoyed particular success in 2004, with 130 exhibitors, which represents 38% growth compared to 2003, and 4,030 visitors (+43%) for just 2 days, according to the figures provided by the organizers, which makes it most likely the largest storage expo in the world for the year, in front of last month’s SNW Fall in Orlando, FL last month, which counted 139 exhibitors and 2,900 registered people.
Most of these Storage Expos are organized to coincide with lnfosecurity, occasionally with Documation as well.
To give an indication of the price, it costs £405 per square meter to have a display at Storage Expo UK.
Finally, in the WW storage expo domain, 2 major players are emerging, Reed on one side with its Storage Expo shows, mainly in Europe, and ComputerWorld/lDG on the other, which organizes the SNW events with the SNIA twice a year – Spring and Fall – in USA, once a year in Germany, and also in China.
