History 2004: Overland Reduces Workworce by 33%

Over the next 8 months, Overland Storage will outsource all of its manufacturing and certain related activities to sub-contractor Sanmina-SCI in Rapid City, SD.

Approximately 140 Overland employees at the San Diego, CA, facility, representing about 1/3 of its total workforce, will be affected and will receive severance packages.

The firm expects to realize “important cost savings” from this outsourcing that will incur between $2.5 million and $3.0 million in restructuration charges.
