History 2004: Avail(able) for Breece Hill
Getting disk-to-tape or D2D backup and restore software for Linux, Windows and MacOS
By Jean Jacques Maleval | June 5, 2024 at 2:00 pmTape library Breece Hill has invested in storage software by acquiring Avail Solutions based in Escondido, CA, the developer of Integrity, a disk-to-tape or D2D backup and restore software for Linux, Windows and MacOS.
The software was already used by Breece Hill in its iStoRA 4000 O2O2T storage subsystems for SMBs, as well as in Exabyte, Fastora, Iomega, Overland, Qualstar and Storage Computer products.
Avail was founded in 1996 by the management team of Advanced Software Concepts, which was then acquired by Platinum Technologies and subsequently purchased by Computer Associates.
