IBM DS8900F AFA Support Remote Code Load

IBM DS8900F all-flash systems support remote code load for IBM Expert Care Advanced clients

In order to meet the demands from DS8900F clients, IBM System Storage is offering remote code load (RCL) services for Expert Care Advanced Tier clients.

The optional feature number, AHY4, is available for models 993, 994, 996, and 998 of machine type 5341. Once ordered in e-config, clients will receive code upgrades performed by remote support engineers, as opposed to an onsite Support Service Representative.

If this feature is not desired, the RCL feature can be left unselected in e-config. Otherwise when ordering RCL, the quantity of RCL feature number AHY4 will always match the number of years of Expert Care Advanced Tier ordered in the system.

Key requirements: All announced features and functions that are supported on the DS8000 series require DS8000 LMC 8.9.30.xx.xx (bundle version 89.30.xx.xx), or later.
