Slashing 4,200 jobs in recording head manufacturing facility

This recording head manufacturing facility is the result of the acquisition of the Conner Peripherals and Maxtor HSA plants, consolidated in 1992.
The Malaysian plant was able to produce around 4 million HSAs per quarter.
It will consolidate it into its 2 others in The Philippines and Thailand.
