History (1997): New Hyundai MaxMedia Disk Substrate Facility in Malaysia
$200 million will be invested in venture.
By Jean Jacques Maleval | November 16, 2021 at 2:01 pmMaxMedia, the magnetic rigid media division of Hyundai Electronics America, has begun construction of a new 200,000 square foot, MMK Technology Hightech media and substrate manufacturing plant in the Kulim Hi-tech Park in Kedah, Malaysia.
$200 million will be invested in the venture, which is expected to begin production in 1999 and will employ 1,200 people when totally operational, in order to produce MR media for Maxtor, another Hyundai subsidiary.
Annual turnover is expected to reach $200 million.::
