Qnap QuWAN Software-Defined WAN Solution

Qnap Systems, Inc. released QuWAN, a Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) solution.

Featuring Auto Mesh IPsec VPN and centralized management cloud platform, it helps SMBs build an agile and reliable IT infrastructure facilitating digital transformation, multi-site expansion and remote working on a cost-effective basis. Compatible with a range of the company’s solutions, it provides steady and optimized network transmission for big data, and also improves IT deployment and management efficiency for multi-national, multi-site expansion.

QuWAN’s SD-WAN technology automatically establishes a mesh VPN through software-defined networking and supports IPsec encryption and cloud management. IT staff can deploy a highly-secure and HA micro-segmented VPN infrastructure that saves transmission time and bandwidth between HQs and branch offices while offloading the transmission burdens of VPN equipment at HQs. It adopts load balancing, WAN aggregation and WAN HA technologies to achieve optimized bandwidth and transmission. Supporting QoS and Deep Packet Inspection (DPI), it prioritizes bandwidth utilization for business-critical applications and blacklists specific applications using L7 firewall functions to secure enterprise network.

Built into QHora routers and available for the company’s NAS, QGD switches and QuCPE servers^(*), QuWAN satisfies versatile usage scenarios with large companies, branch offices, and homes. When co-working with the QVPN App, remote workers can be connected to SSL VPN via their computer or mobile device. Devices in different locations are flexibly segmented to connect with each other in a micro-segmented network.

The QuWAN Orchestrator (centralized management cloud platform) enables HQs-based staff to remotely monitor edge network devices, set parameters, and analyze network traffic, thus achieving Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP). It also provides user-friendly functionality, including a dashboard, eMap, and traffic analysis to make network deployment easier.
