History (1991): Yamaha, New HDD Manufacturer

Yamaha of Japan, the world’s largest supplier of musical instruments, plans to produce hard drives next year.

The firm has developed units that can record 60-80MB on a 2.5-inch drive and 120-160MB on a 3.5-inch disk, according to the East Asia High – Tech Review newsletter.
