History (1991): Soon 3.5-Inch 300MB Drive From ATG Gigadisc

Using magneto-optical technology

Next November, ATG Gigadisc (Toulouse, France) will unveil a new 3.5-inch magneto-optical (MO) drive, said company’s president, Alain Bouttier.

This drive is the subject of a partnership agreement with a Japanese company whose name was not revealed. It will not function with the 3.5-inch M-O disk that is being standardized but with a new support of higher density that can store 300MB on both sides.
