SC19: Beijing Meteorological Service Selects Mellanox 200Gb HDR IB

Mellanox Technologies, Ltd. announced that Beijing Meteorological Service (China Meteorological Administration) has selected 200 Gigabit HDR IB interconnect solutions to accelerate a new HPC platform.

The system will be used for enhancing weather forecasting, improving climate and environmental research, and serving the weather forecasting information needs of the China2022 Winter Olympics.

HDR IB’s high data throughput, low latency, the smart In-Network Computing acceleration engines, enhanced congestion control and adaptive routing characteristics, provide Beijing Meteorological Service with the capabilities to build an intelligent weather research system. The system will provide smart detection capabilities, fine-grained weather services, climate environmental assessment, and public meteorological processing.
