Beijing Baidu Netcom Science and Technology, Co., Ltd., Beijing, China, has been assigned a patent (10,469,583) developed by Xie, Guangjun, Wang, Baisheng, and Li, Zhiyong, Beijing, China, for “data storage method and device.“
The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: ”The present disclosure provides a data storage method and device. The data storage method includes: receiving data by a simulating device from a client operating system, encapsulating the data in a user space of a host system according to a protocol used by a storage server, and sending the encapsulated data to the storage server for storage. The method can realize storing data in the storage server, thereby shortening the I/O path, improving the I/O throughput of a system, reducing the CPU load, and optimizing the system performance.”

Disk capacity predicting and non-volatile computer storage
Beijing Baidu Netcom Science and Technology, Co., Ltd., Beijing, China, has been assigned a patent (10,423,882) developed by Wang, Bo, Qu, Xianping, He, Jia, Tao, Shimin, Zang, Zhi, Miao, Beibei, Chen, Yu, and Su, Hui, Beijing, China, for “disk capacity predicting method, apparatus, equipment and non-volatile computer storage medium.“
The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: ”Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a disk capacity predicting method, apparatus, equipment and non-volatile computer storage medium. On the one hand, the change data of the disk capacity is obtained according to the historical capacity data of the disk, then the target inflection point in the historical capacity data is obtained according to the change data of the disk capacity, and then the linear relationship between the time and disk capacity is obtained according to the historical capacity data after the target inflection point. Therefore, technical solutions provided by embodiments of the present disclosure may achieve improvement of accuracy of prediction of disk capacity trend and reduce the cost needed in disk capacity prediction.”
The patent application was filed on November 10, 2015 (15/039,780).
