WekaIO Opens Office in Washington DC

To support growth in government and federal agencies

WekaIO, Inc. opened a new office in Washington D.C., along with the appointment of Ted Purnell as regional sales sales manager.

This presence and appointments in the District of Columbia (D.C.) are integral to the growth of the company and coverage in the federal and government agency industry.

Wekaio Opens Office In Washington DcTed Purnell, regional sales sales manager, joins the organization after having spent many years working with federal agencies on hardware and software implementations for their IT infrastructures. Prior to joining WekaIO, he worked for companies as Blue River Information Technology, Riverbed Technology, Moogsoft, and Instart Logic.

The US.federal government is one of the biggest producers of data, amassing hundreds of petabytes each year. The data collected is a major driver of the American economy as businesses use this government data to make decisions and integrate it into products and services sold to consumers.

HPC is of paramount importance to accelerated time-to-discovery, which is a driver for the acquisition of GPU-enabled services. Legacy storage systems used to support traditional HPC workflows can no longer keep up with the increasing performance demands.

The Weka File System (WekaFS) is a file system for HPC that can keep GPUs saturated with data.
