Toshiba Memory: Leave of Absence for CEO Yasuo Naruke Until September

He is now recovering.
At a shareholders meeting, Nobuo Hayasaka, EVP, executive officer and CTO of Toshiba Memory Corporation, was appointed to serve concurrently as an additional representative director as acting president and CEO of Toshiba Memory Holdings Corporation and Toshiba Memory Corporation during Naruke’s short absence.
“The entire board wishes president Naruke a speedy recovery,” said Hayasaka. “We are committed to working closely to effectively manage the company’s operations and continue to execute against our strategic initiatives during Mr. Naruke’s absence.”
Hayasaka first joined Toshiba Corporation in 1984 after receiving a Ph.D in Electronic Engineering from Tohoku University. He was promoted to the position of CTO in 2017, and after Toshiba Memory’s separation from Toshiba Corporation in 2018, was appointed as EVP, executive officer and CTO.
