Cloudian Certified Veritas Enterprise Vault

To provide disk-based corporate archiving at lower cost than NAS and tape

Cloudian, Inc. announced a with Veritas Enterprise Vault.

Cloudian Certifies Veritas

By employing Enterprise Vault technology with Cloudian’s exabyte-scalable HyperStore storage, customers can reduce archive costs by up to 70% compared to NAS and tape-based systems.* Cloudian reduces storage TCO by lowering capital expense and eliminating expensive and time-consuming data migrations required with other enterprise storage types.

Enterprise Vault helps customers store, manage and discover unstructured information across an organization. Its users can employ HyperStore object storage platform as a Veritas-certified vault store for their email, files and other corporate and regulated data to help simplify data management and lower storage costs.

HyperStore reduces operational costs by allowing IT managers to consolidate information to a single, geo-distributed system that can span multiple sites, including on-premises and public cloud. Unlike conventional disk and tape storage types that periodically require labor-intensive storage migrations, Cloudian’s evergreen storage platform allows equipment to be updated without disruption. Suited for customers employing EMC Centera, the system’s integrated WORM feature provides immutable storage, allowing users to meet regulatory requirements in such sectors as healthcare, financial services and government.

As a Veritas Certified Migration Partner, we understand the challenges associated with rapidly moving data to a new platform without impacting ongoing production operations,” said Gary Lieberman, CEO, Interlock Technology, Inc.We are in the unique position to seamlessly migrate Enterprise Vault data to Cloudian’s limitlessly scalable storage, no matter what the current storage platform happens to be – whether it’s on NAS, CAS or object storage – enabling dramatically simplified long-term management.

Veritas Enterprise Vault provides a foundation for intelligent information lifecycle management and supervision/discovery,” said Jyothi Swaroop, VP of product marketing, Veritas. “When combined with Cloudian, this integration gives IT managers new options to consolidate and protect their archives on EB-scalable object storage, resulting in less management workload and lower costs.

Using Cloudian and Veritas together, organizations gain following benefits:

  • Lower costs: Up to 70% TCO savings vs. NAS systems used as the vault store, and up to 47% TCO savings compared to tape storage.
  • Simplicity and scalability: A single, exabyte-scalable archive target for all data, including email and other corporate records.
  • Multisite efficiency: Cloudian’s data management features, including geo-distribution for DR and local storage access across locations.
  • Improved user experience: Accelerated records access from Cloudian’s disk-based storage.

Traditional disk and tape systems have reached the limits of their abilities as archival systems, with today’s requirements for capacity, compliance and data protection driving up storage costs and management workload,” said Sanjay Jagad, senior director of products and solutions, Cloudian. “Cloudian HyperStore now seamlessly integrates with Veritas Enterprise Vault, providing an easy-to-deploy, limitlessly scalable on-premises solution that helps users meet their regulatory compliance, retention and future capacity growth needs.
