To meet such requirements, SAN50C-R is designed to deliver:
- SAN consolidation with integrated multiprotocol
- High-density FC switch with 16Gb/s connectivity
- Intelligent application services engine
- Cost-effective, high-performing FC and FCIP connectivity for open systems and mainframe environments
- Remote SAN extension with high-performance FCIP and fast DR
- Hardware-based virtual fabric isolation with virtual SANs (VSANs) and FC routing with Inter-VSAN Routing (IVR)
- Remote SAN extension with high-performance FCIP
- Cost-effective iSCSI connectivity to Ethernet-attached servers
Key prerequisites:
- SAN50C-R supports multiprotocol connectivity for servers and storage. The 8977-R50 model supports all features and functions listed, and requires NX-OS software release 8.1(b), or later.
- NX-OS software release 8.1(b) is required for FICON support.
