IBM Transparent Data Migration Facility for z/OS (TDMF z/OS) V5.7 delivers data migration enhancements and the z/VM Agent for TDMF z/OS

IBM Transparent Data Migration Facility for z/OS (TDMF z/OS) is offered by IBM Corp.’s system storage.

TDMF z/OS is for migrating data onto new IBM storage, including DS8870, without application disruption or being limited by the storage vendor. With TDMF z/OS v5.7, a new agent is available to migrate z/VM data.

IBM System Storage offers IBM TDMF z/OS V5.7 and the z/VM Agent for TDMF z/OS V5.7.

The TDMF z/OS solution enables non-disruptive, volume-based, heterogeneous storage migrations with continuous transparent access to all applications and data.

TDMF z/OS V5.7 contains enhancements designed
to improve data migration experience:

Easy Tier Heat Map Transfer support
Thin provisioning support on DS8000 series
Improvements in GDPS/xDR support
Expansion of the IGNOREGDPS keyword value

z/VM Agent for TDMF z/OS offers support for data migrations in a z/VM environment.

TDMF z/OS is a prerequisite and corequisite for the z/VM Agent for TDMF z/OS.
