Best Quarter in ExaGrid’s History

Bookings up 24% and revenue 18% in 3Q15 over 3Q14

ExaGrid Systems, Inc. is continuing its growth in the disk-based backup market, with record bookings and record revenue in Q3 2015.

ExaGrid grew bookings 24% over the same quarter a year ago, and grew revenue 18% over the same period last year. This is the best bookings quarter and best revenue quarter in the history of the company. In addition, this was ExaGrid’s seventh consecutive quarter as both cash and P&L positive, following double-digit growth in 2014.

ExaGrid continues to move up market into larger accounts, and in Q3 2015 ExaGrid’s ASP continued to climb and was the highest in the company’s history,” said Bill Andrews, CEO, ExaGrid. “ExaGrid has always been strong in the mid-market to small enterprise with customers that have tens to hundreds of terabytes of data, but is now also doing a large amount of business with customers that have multiple hundreds of terabytes of data. This quarter, ExaGrid booked a record number of new customer six-figure deals. The combination of our unique landing zone, scale-out backup storage architecture and larger appliances and systems are responsible for our accelerating growth.

In addition to the financial milestones of record revenue and bookings, ExaGrid led the industry with innovation and international expansion in several other areas as well, announcing the following additional quarterly milestones:

  • ExaGrid is the sole vendor positioned as a ‘Visionary’ in the 2015 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Deduplication Backup Target Appliances.1 Companies named as Visionaries deliver innovative products with capabilities that are often ahead of the mainstream in the market.
  • The company released software upgrade Version 4.9 that supports global data deduplication across all appliances in a scale-out GRID and provides enhanced support of Oracle RMAN Channels to provide in-parallel backups and failover.
  • ExaGrid expanded its overseas presence and has sales offices in the UK, Germany, France, the Nordics, Benelux, and Singapore.
  • The company received Computer Technology Review’s Most Valuable Product award. Judging criteria used by the editorial team included product innovation, functionality, and affordability.

ExaGrid’s only competitors are the large brand storage and backup  vendors who have first-generation scale-up architectures using inline data deduplication, whether in an appliance or the backup media server,” said Andrews. “This approach does reduce storage and bandwidth requirements but slows down backups and restores and does not scale to accommodate data growth.  Not only does ExaGrid offer best-in-class data deduplication for storage and bandwidth efficiency, but also reduces the backup window, improves restore and VM boot performance, and keeps the backup window fixed as data volumes increase.
