LaserVault Backup Software ($7,495) Supports Full System Saves for IBM i

Electronic Storage Corporation has added the ability to perform full system saves to their LaserVault Backup software.

The added functionality allows iSeries and AS/400 users to eliminate the need to use tape for their backups. Businesses that rely on physical tape for their IBM i backups now have an easier alternative.

LaserVault Backup is a tapeless backup solution that uses TCP/IP to connect to the iSeries. The software uses commands very similar to current IBM i commands. It was developed to make performing daily and incremental backups easier and faster than using tape. With the new optional SAVSYSLV feature, businesses can perform bare metal restores without tape.
