R&S SpycerBox Cell, which was first introduced at NAB 2014, now offers an increased capacity of up to 60TB in a single 1U chassis.

The R&S storage systems are perfect when it comes to creating a storage architecture for broadcast and post post-production environments up to 8K. Taking the demands of its customers for fast and cost-efficient storage seriously, the company has further enhanced its storage systems.

SpycerBox Cell provides a modular storage solution coupled with high video processing performance and density. Now boasting up to 60TB in a single 1U chassis, it represents a cost-effective system that offers high capacities and performance at the same time. Each SpycerBox Cell supports up to one uncompressed stream of 4K at 60p or up to three streams of uncompressed 4K at 24p, several SpycerBox Cell systems can even be clustered to multiply this performance.

Rohde & Schwarz is a member of the Adobe Technology Partner Program, embracing all steps in the video delivery chain. Combine R&S’s SAN/NAS storage with Creative Cloud to scale-out resources as your needs grow, while providing collaborative enterprise production workflows.

The storage solutions are powered by Quantum’s StorNext5, providing customers with the opportunity to benefit from performance improvements, higher flexibility, as well as scale-out capabilities.

Jorge Ríos, product manager, storage solutions, Rohde & Schwarz DVS, said: “Our clients really value our storage system’s excellent performance and reliability. With this in mind, we have focused on further extending our product portfolio to meet our customers’ demands for fast and high-quality storage solutions. Since its debut in 2014, SpycerBox Cell has been upgraded. It is now available in capacities up to 60 TB, and can support up to three streams of uncompressed 4K at 24p.
